Affordable Ottawa community project gets the go-ahead
The Odayanhaway development in Ottawa, expected to be completed by 2028, will offer housing for approximately 200 individuals.

The Odayanhaway development at 30 Cleary Avenue in Ottawa has received permission from the city to proceed.

The project is a partnership between Theia Partners, the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa and Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services (OAHS), and will transform a parking lot into a community for 200 individuals.

Odayanhaway (Little Village) will be an affordable and sustainable transit-oriented infill development featuring a 16-storey high rise with 148 units, and a six-storey non-profit building. The small building will be Indigenous-owned and operated by OAHS, and will provide culturally appropriate housing for Indigenous individuals. Both buildings will adhere to environmental sustainability standards, and green technology such as geothermal heating and cooling.

Housing developer Theia Partners is managing the joint venture, and expects to break ground in Summer 2025, with construction expected to be completed by 2028. Click here to download a pdf about the project.
